IHMM credentials are certifications that are preferred by many companies and government regulators.  They identify professionals who are certified to deal with hazardous materials.  Even when these professionals are working under various job titles, corporations can meet the challenge of complying with environmental regulations when they employ an IHMM certificant.  They are professionals who not only manage your environmental concerns and hazardous materials but also can advise other managers on such items at any point in their life cycle.  This presentation will discuss the qualification of credentials offered by IHMM and accreditation and credential management practices to receive and retain IHMM credential.

The Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM) accreditations--both the Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) and the Certified Hazardous Materials Practitioner (CHMP)--are accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and meet ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024, the International Standard for Personnel Certification Programs.  The Council of Engineering and Scientific Specialty Boards (CESB) also accredit CHMM and CHMP.  CHMMs and CHMPs have knowledge of a whole umbrella of environmental management areas such as: Risk Assessment, proper storage and handling, transportation, pollution prevention, waste stream management, impacts on environment, waste minimization, sustainability, emergency response, remediation just to name a few.
