The Muscogee (Creek) Nation is a 78,000 member in tribe in Oklahoma that has a 11 county jurisdiction.  The MCN has passed legislation to use sustainable construction practices in new construction and rehabilitation projects.  A component of this legislation was the development of a structural insulated panel (SIP) panel plant.  These SIP panels have been used in various construction projects.  This session will explain how the SIP panels are made at the plant and where they are used in construction projects.  There will also be a comparison of energy savings between residences made with the SIP panels and non-SIP panel residences.  The participants will have a better understanding of tribal organizational structure and sustainable construction practices within Indian Country.
