Soil and groundwater remediation systems vary in both complexity and the degree of care required to keep them optimally performing.  The most successful remediation systems are those with minimum down time and maximum mass removal efficiency. For most systems these goals are best accomplished by frequent site visits and maintenance, however, the costs associated with these visits may be a constraint. The end result is often a decrease in remediation system performance, or more dramatic, the design of a completely different approach.

An often overlooked opportunity by many remediation consultants is the value of teaming with on-site personnel. Industry is full of technically degreed, certified (CHMM), and licensed professionals fully competent to supplement a remediation strategy. Through proper teaming arrangements, contracts, training, and agreements, great success can be achieved.

Obstacles and considerations will be presented as well as case studies where remediation was dramatically improved by creating on-site partnerships. Metrics will be provided including increases in system performance (mass recovery), cost savings, and life cycle costs. This session will be presented by both industry representatives and consultants and will conclude with a question and answer session.
