Ozone NAAQS: Implications and State Implementation Plan (SIPs) Development Status for Various States

The recent decrease in the National Ambient Air Quality Standard for Ozone will lead to significant expansion of Ozone non-attainment areas in a number of heavily developed metropolitan areas.  With the expansion of ozone non-attainment, states will be required to develop new SIPs to create even tougher standards on sources that emit the ozone precursors of NOx and VOCs.
