Safety Management Systems: A Comparison

With the proposed implementation of ISO 45001 Occupational Safety Management Systems in late 2016, now is a good time to review Safety Management Systems (SMS) from the historical perspective.


This session will do a compare and contrast of the following Safety Management Systems: 

* Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems/International Organization for Standardization (OHSAS) 18001 (2007)

* International Standards Organization (ISO) 45001 (proposed)

* American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z10 (2012)

* Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Safety & Health Program Management Guidelines

By exploring the common elements and contrasting their differences, attendees will be able to identify the best SMS for their employer.
