Did you know that comprehensibility is still a major challenge in Hazardous Materials overall? Poor comprehensibility can result in an increase in the number and severity of safety incidents as well as increased costs.

The Safety Data Sheet and other hazardous material-related resources can be duanting documents, especially for low literacy, English as a second language, and other cognitively impaired persons (fatigue, other reasons).

And did you know that there are now a wide range of Data Visualization tools that are easy to use and inexpensive (free in many cases) that can be used to help solve these challenges?

In this session we will demonstrate the application of data visualization tools to several Hazardous Materials training and documentation challenges. Participants will be invited to chime in about what tools they have used, with what success, and for what topics.

All will leave with a sense of the amazing new horizon we are approaching with respect to solving the problem of hazardous materials comprehensibility to non-technical persons.
