Carson 1 (Grand Sierra)

Level of Course: Entry

Did you know that your brain cannot refuse a question? And that Big Change triggers fear and causes the brain’s amygdala to shut down creative thinking, but that Kaizen (good micro change) flies below the amygdala’s radar screen?

In this session, we will explore the difference between Innovation (big change) and Kaizen (good micro change) from a brain science perspective (big change triggers the amygdala, kaizen flies below the radar screen, and explore how you can use this to improve your Lean program or your workplace culture.

We will poll the group for examples of kaizen in their personal and professional lives and will share some creative first steps that show how small Kaizen can really start.

Then small groups will brainstorm how they could implement the power of questions in their organization to drive a Lean and Safety culture deeper into all aspects of their organization.

We will further explore how to implement this day to day in order to improve the engagement of the team. In the smaller groups, each group will come up with ideas that can be used or have been used successfully in their huddles or other organizational structure.

Having  team members feel that their suggestions were  were heard and considered is another key piece required for getting team members engaged, a No Idea Left Behind process will be shared.

Are you ready to have a good time and explore lots in this session?
