Level of Course: Entry

The e-manifest system is being developed by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) that allows users all over the nation to maintain more accurate records of “cradle to grave” shipment of hazardous waste. To ensure the integrity of those users’ documents, security measures have been implemented for the safe transfer of intimate details via the e-manifest system. Submission of your manifest depends on the kind of operation you run as a generator. Tailoring how you submit your manifest becomes important, and depends on a facilities available technology or resources. Application in a university versus an industrial setting can mean different things.  One example is the potential to see an increase in cost due to user fees due to diversity of materials. The abstract will review potential methods of streamlining hazardous waste management strategies to help mitigate cost as to the e-manifest fee burden.
