Opening Session and Keynote Presentation by Chris Connealy

On April 17, 2013, an explosion of approximately 30 tons of ammonium nitrate occurred at the West Fertilizer Plant. Twelve first responders and three civilians were killed and numerous others were injured. This explosion severely impacted the community of West, Texas, and many others. Texas State Fire Marshal Chris Connealy will review this tragedy, the lessons learned, and the changes that have taken place since that fateful day.
