Emergency Response Scenario (No Ticket required but RSVP needed)

Tuesday, August 29, 2017: 1:00 PM-5:30 PM
Offsite - Shuttles depart from Lobby Entrance

Emergency Response Scenario (ERS) will be held at the Tarrant County College--Fire Training Center in Fort Worth, Texas.  There is no participation fee this year but you do need to register.

Buses will depart from the lobby entrance at 1:30 PM

This year’s scenario will be based on two major railroad multi-car derailments highlighting responses for up to three different situations. The specific HAZMAT release situations will be:

A low-pressure car leaking from the bottom valves.

A car leaking chlorine rolled over at a 90-degree angle.

A dry-goods hopper car leaking from a damaged section and non-pressurized cars containing crude oil.

The combination of these incidents will demonstrate the realities involved with large derailments.

ERS participants who are assisting with this live exercise include Tarrant County College--Fire Training Center, two major railroads, several fire departments, and an experienced rail incident private contractor. State and Federal Agencies have been invited and advised of this live ERS event.
