Level of Course: Entry
Nanomaterials have physical and chemical properties that are often different from their parent material, making them desirable for certain product applications. More than 1,000 nanomaterial-containing products are currently manufactured. The size and shape of engineered nanomaterials greatly affects their toxicity and environmental impact. Attend this session to learn about:
- Basic methods and processes used to produce engineered nanomaterial
- Exposure-causing processes during manufacturing, handling and processing
- Workplace safety and environmental considerations, and how to identify high-risk activities
- Engineering controls and exposure monitoring
