Understanding EPA's New Generator Improvements Rule

Hazardous waste generators have a lot to look forward to in 2017. On November 28, 2016, the EPA promulgated the Hazardous Waste Generator Improvements Rule. This is the first major change to the generator's rules since the addition of small quantity generators in 1986. These new rules have significant impact every hazardous waste generator's waste management practices, from the very small to the largest quantity of generator. During the session we will break down the significant changes, from:

-Reorganization of the generator rules

-New rules for determining generator status

-New marking requirements for containers, tanks, and containment buildings

-New re-notification requirements

-New consolidation options for very small quantity generators (formerly known as conditionally-exempt small quantity generators)

-New rules for "episodic" generation
