Biographical Sketch:
Dave Smith has worked in the environmental industry for over 20 years, which includes the last 8 years as a Senior Environmental Engineer for the Environmental Engineering Department at the American Airlines Maintenance and Engineering Facility in Tulsa, OK (M&E). His primary focus is managing the hazardous waste program at the M&E facility which generates over 1,600 tons of hazardous waste annually. Dave has a great deal of experience in all areas of hazardous waste, including transportation, treatment, storage, disposal, and generation. He has performed lab packs, worked household hazardous waste collection events, performed waste determinations, transported hazardous waste, orchestrated emergency responses, remediated Superfund site and various brownfields. In 1992, Dave graduated from Butler Community College in Eldorado, KS, with an Associate Degree in Electronic Technology. He then attended Friends University in Wichita, KS and graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. In 2012 Dave graduated with a Master of Science Degree in Environmental Science from Oklahoma State University in Tulsa, OK. Dave has been a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) since 2005.
