Biographical Sketch: Matt J. Brunton is the Corporate Safety Manager for ENERCON Services Inc, an International Engineering and Environmental Consultancy firm. As the head of Safety, his duties are far ranging and are centered upon the development, implementation and continuous improvement of ENERCON's Safety Management System and ensuring ENERCON's employees are trained in, and live by, the firm’s safety programs. Mr. Brunton manages 43 Safety Supervisors across 28 locations to ensure work safety excellence across the breath of ENERCON's operations. ENERCON's Safety Record exceeds our industry averages in all areas. Mr. Brunton’s expertise spans multiple subject areas including safety, health, risk management, operations, training and project management. Prior to joining ENERCON, Mr. Brunton had over 19 years of management experience across numerous environments including Oil and Gas, Aviation and Military. Mr. Brunton has a Master of Science in Safety Assessment and Human Factors from the Cranfield School of Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics from the University of Leicester. Mr. Brunton is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and holds a Chartered Management Institute Certificate in Strategic Direction and Leadership. He has attended and delivered numerous training courses including OSHA, NEBOSH, Defensive Driving, and Human Factors. Mr. Brunton has authored a number of significant documents including two publications: a Safety and Risk Management Plan for Number 2 Group, Royal Air Force and a quantitative and qualitative research study into pilot skill fade and safety events. Mr Brunton’s most recent (2015) notable written work was a Behavior Based Safety Program for an Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Company. Mr. Brunton is an accomplished presenter and has been regularly speaking in front of audiences large and small for over 20 years. His most recent public presentation was delivered at “The Future of Safety Excellence Conference” in Minneapolis in Q4 of 2016. His last international lecture on the Human Factor in Risk Management was presented at the Manchester School of Business, to a post graduate Advanced Management Achievement Course in 2014. He speaks regularly on safety and health issues within his current organization and is scheduled to present at his ASSE Regional Chapter in 2017.
