Level of Course: Entry

With the increase in chronic health conditions and the aging of the working population, there is growing interest in a systematic approach to improving worker safety, health, and well-being. Total Worker Health® means policies, programs, and practices that integrate protection from work-related safety and health hazards with promotion of injury and illness prevention efforts to advance worker well-being. Total Worker Health (TWH) starts with the job itself to look at the broad impact that work has on workers. Employers can address safety and health at the population level by addressing issues related to safety, physical and mental health, employment benefits, and healthy supervision. This session will provide highlight the current and emerging issues facing the American workforce, showcase promising practices, and discuss how organizations can get started on an integrated approach to advancing worker safety, health, and well-being.
