This presentation will cover the remediation history of a site in northeastern Oklahoma over the past two decades, with the primary concern being the encroachment of a benzene impacted groundwater plume on residential properties. Other challenges included past failed in-situ remediation applications, state and local involvement and attorneys. While the development and execution of an agreeable work plan presented its own obstacles, the approval to proceed sets another game into motion. Find out how to work with state and local officials and work to managing public perceptions with legal involvement on both sides of the fence. As a project manager with a variety of stakeholders, you must find the proper balance of keep the costs low, success rate high and the public opinion positive.
