All ISO management systems, both past and current versions, require that top management determine the continuing suitability, adequacy and effectiveness (SAE) of the management system.  The 2015 revisions of ISO 14001 (environment), 9001 (consumer satisfaction), and 45001 (OHS, still in draft version) have increased the requirements for suitability, adequacy and effectiveness four fold.  Yes, the SAE requirements have been quadrupled!  Many management system managers do not understand the importance of differentiating and evaluating suitability, adequacy and effectiveness. Fortunately, ISO 14001:2015 defines or explains these terms.   This presentation will explain how management systems could be adequate for the requirements, and how to add value to management systems through suitability and effectiveness.
