Biographical Sketch:
Edward N. Ryan Jr., CET, has much more than forty years of experience in Industrial Training. Formerly, he was the Training Manager for the Kennedy Space Center. He recently retired as one of a very rare breed: a second generation careerist in the U.S. space industry. For most of his career, Ed provided environmental and occupational safety and health training to U.S. astronauts and launch support personnel at the Kennedy Space Center. He has been a CET and NESHTA member since 1992, and consistently has been among the most popular presenters at NESHTA conferences and workshops. In 2002, Ed was awarded NASA’s highest individual award, the Space Flight Awareness Honoree, for his training of America’s Astronauts and Close-Out Crew members. In 2012 he was awarded the coveted Silver Snoopy award, presented by the US Astronaut Corps., for personally training 103 of the 135 Shuttle Flight Crews.
