Biographical Sketch:
Ms. Farrar has over 25 years of broad-based safety and environmental experience, specializing in the areas of hazardous waste, process safety management, European sustainability Directives and EHS auditing. She is currently the Director of EHS for Fenwal Inc. Fenwal was a division of Baxter, headquartered near Chicago, IL, which sells blood collection, storage and processing equipment. Her current responsibilities include all aspects of environmental compliance, agency interface, H&S programs, etc. for 6 world-wide manufacturing/laboratory facilities located in Illinois, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, France, Belgium, and Tunisia. Previously, she was the Sr. Director of EHS for Sterigenics, a commercial sterilization company, Global EHS Manager for Bausch & Lomb’s Surgical Division, and EHS Manager for Trade Waste Incineration, a commercial hazardous waste incineration facility. TWI was a division of Chemical Waste Management. Ms. Farrar had worked within the Chemical Waste Management/ Waste Management family of companies for over thirteen years, some of which as an EHS Auditor. She was also employed by an environmental consulting firm where she performed Superfund work for EPA Region V. Ms. Farrar holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science/Biology from Bradley University. She has been a member of the Auditing Roundtable since 1985, and a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager since 1989. She has been an active member of the Gateway Society of Hazardous Materials Managers including an instructor for the CHMM review course and one of the organization’s Past Presidents. She is currently serving as President Elect of the Chicago Chapter of AHMP.
