Biographical Sketch: Edward (Jody) holds an Associate Degree in Fire and Safety Technology. Jody is a Battalion Chief with the Louisville Kentucky Division Fire and Rescue. He is a Certified Emergency Medical Technician, and has 20 years of experience in conducting environmental, health and safety training and hazardous materials emergency responses. As a Lead instructor at ISTS since 2009, Jody is responsible for course development of all levels of competency for Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) hazardous materials and Homeland Security training initiatives including emergency response to Chemical, Biological, Nuclear, Radiological and Explosive (CBRNE) weapons of mass destruction (WMD). He routinely consults and trains with other State, local and private sector clients on National Incident Management System (NIMS) compliance, National Response Framework components, Hazmat program development and emergency management protocols to ensure coordinated relationships among response organizations promoting sound preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation practices. He is also a National Fire Academy – certified instructor for a host of an academy course work. Jody serves as a primary course developer and a lead instructor for ISTS’s Hospital First Receiver Program. He also routinely serves as an exercise evaluator for HSEEP during drills, functional and full scale exercises.
