Biographical Sketch: Robert, a Florence, Alabama native, is currently serving as Environmental Project Manager of Alabama Technology Network's Muscle Shoals Center. Since 2000 with ATN, Robert manages numerous environmental, safety, and health technical assistance and training projects as a part of his duties. Robert received his bachelor’s degree in Geology from Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina and went on to become a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, Certified Hazard Control Manager, Registered Environmental Manager, and Registered Environmental Property Assessor, through additional instruction at Oklahoma State University. Robert is also an authorized OSHA General Industry and Construction Outreach Trainer through the United States Department of Labor OSHA Training Institute. Prior to joining ATN, Robert worked two years as Operations Manager in manufacturing, eight years as an Environmental Consultant and Geologist in Greensboro, North Carolina, and two years as an Environmental Education and Agricultural Extensionist as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Paraguay, South America. Robert is fluent in Spanish and he and his wife have developed and delivered numerous environmental, safety, and health training programs in an all-Spanish format. Robert was recently named for 2012, ATN’s Innovator of the Year and ES&H COP Member of the Year. Robert is a former President and Board Member of the Alabama Society of Hazardous Materials Managers and is President Elect of the chapter for 2013.
