Emergency responders today often face complex challenges and safety issues in responding to an incident involving the uncontrolled release of hazardous materials.  They must make accurate decisions quickly based upon the situation and surrounding environmental conditions.  To assist them in the decision making process, immediate access to credible databases of information are needed.  This presentation introduces the availability of several free computer based programs that provide hazardous materials information, guidance and recommendations on immediate actions necessary to save lives and protect the environment. A few of these programs will be displayed dynamically using a live internet connection.  While each of these programs stands alone, they are also easily integrated into a hazardous materials training program.
