The 2009 Aircraft Drinking Water Rule (ADWR) provides air carriers with a feasible way to comply with the Safe Drinking Water Act and the National Primary Drinking Water Regulations.  The purpose of the ADWR is to ensure safe and reliable potable water is provided  to aircraft passengers and crew.  Existing municipal water system regulations have proven difficult to implement when applied to aircraft water systems, which are operationally very different from a public water system.  In this session, you’ll learn about key components of the ADWR (water monitoring, best management practices, public notification, operator training, and reporting) designed to improve public health protection, as well as emerging developments and opportunities in the airline industry associated with aircraft potable water systems.
