CALL FOR ABSTRACTS • Deadline: February 27, 2015 •

To submit an abstract by the deadline, please read the track description underneath each track hyperlink and select the corresponding track below.

Individuals who wish to present at AHMP 2015 are encouraged to submit an abstract of up to 250 words along with a 50-word author/presenter biography. Each abstract will be considered for a 60-120 minute technical session or an interactive roundtable discussion. A limited number of roundtables or panel discussions may be offered.

Instructors who wish to present a preconference workshop may submit a proposal with a course description, 50-word instructor bio(s), proposed length of course, level of course or necessary prerequisites, materials or equipment.

The abstracts—limited to 250 words in length—must include a clear description of the technical session or preconference workshop. The following information is required to complete the online submission:

• Title of the presentation and level of content
• Name of the track that best represents the presentation
• Each author’s name, title, organization, address, telephone and e-mail address
• 50-word author/presenter biography added at the end of the abstract

Current Trends
Cutting-edge ideas and technologies for hazardous materials management. How emerging technologies are creating challenges for the EHSS professional. Examples may include alternative energy, sustainability, nano-materials, conflict minerals and others.

EHS Training and Professional Development
Subject matter on EHS Training would include training assessments, program development, program delivery, adult learning styles, etc. On professional development, papers would include business skills, acquiring other credentials, integration into larger business organizations, and advancing your career in the EH&S field.

Emergency Management and Security
Reacting to and managing chemical and biohazards, fire prevention and fire hazards, industrial security, transportation security, contingency plans and continuity of operations during natural and manmade disasters/terrorism emergencies in transportation and industrial settings.

Environmental Protection
Technical, practical, and regulatory topics related to current environmental protection issues, including solid and hazardous waste management; water quality; air emissions; emergency planning and community right to know reporting; petroleum/chemical storage and spill prevention; pesticide use and pollution prevention.

General


HAZMAT Transportation
Classifying, packaging, preparing and documenting hazardous materials for transportation. Hazmat transportation by air, rail, vessel, highway and pipeline. Managing hazmat transportation. New Requirements or timely issues preferred.

Pre-Conference Workshops


Safety and Industrial Hygiene
Topics in workplace safety, industrial hygiene, occupational health, safety management, developments in PPE and tools. Also included will be updates on regulatory changes and emerging subject.

Site Remediation
Requirements, technologies, strategies and case studies in site remediation. environmental restoration, brownfields, risk assessment, due diligence, all appropriate inquiry. How can we remedy the damage of past activities faster, better, more economically.

Plan to take an active part in AHMP 2015, the AHMP National Conference, the environmental, health, safety and security (EHS&S), hazardous materials and waste management industry’s essential forum for national and international information exchange and networking.

Individuals are invited to submit abstracts for AHMP 2015 for both concurrent technical sessions and pre-conference workshops on topics of interest to EHS&S, hazardous materials and waste management professionals. The 2015 Conference – integrating all the industry’s diverse disciplines – offers you the unique opportunity to present new ideas, share valuable professional experiences and case studies, and explore recent developments, emerging issues, regulatory updates and trends in environmental, health, safety, security, hazardous materials and waste management.

AHMP encourages abstracts from individuals in federal, state and local agencies in both the United States and abroad; first responders; engineers; scientists; project managers; military staff; college and university students; and EHS professionals in all areas related to hazardous materials. If approvals or authorizations will be needed for your presentation, please verify these prior to submitting your abstract. Authors of approved abstracts are expected to attend the conference and deliver their presentations as scheduled.

Any individual can present. Authors are required to submit their proposals themselves. It is expected that the submitting author will be the presenter. It is not necessary to be a member of AHMP to attend or present at the conference.
