DOT General Awareness, Tips and Tricks for New Shippers and Non-Shippers

For both the new hazmat shipper and the non-hazmat shipper with a need to understand the topic, the regulations in 49 CFR 107-178 are a confusing maze of requirements without an obvious progression leading to successful compliance.  In this session, we will accomplish the following:

1.  Learn key terms, like hazard class, packing group, shipping paper and certification

2.  Learn a standard progression of task completion for successful shipping

3.  Learn to review characterization data, waste profile documents, and shipping papers to assure consistency

4.  Learn to review carrier permits, credentials, and some aspects of truck inspection.

Attendees will leave the class with a better understanding of how to move through the book to achieve a successful, compliant shipment.
