What leads to a workplace death, a true nightmare for all involved? Is it one sudden, irreversible,
horrible mistake? Or do many small, practically imperceptible steps lead to the tragedy? Is it even
possible to "rehearse" for a tragedy and who is ultimately responsible? Consider how you manage
safety: do you manage it on the behavioral level or on the fatality level, when it's too late? Bill Sims will
show you how Sea World managed safety at the fatality level and how early warning signs were ignored
and unsafe behaviors and practices were allowed to spiral out of control on the way to a heartbreaking
loss of life. Using the techniques of behavioral analysis, both the safe and the at-risk behaviors leading
up to the event will be closely examined.
