Part 2:  Unfortunately, safety professionals rarely have line authority, or positional leadership, to hold upper management, middle management and staff accountable for working safely. Typically, a safety professional's impact occurs through influence. As a safety professional, you must learn to become an "emergent" leader in the organizations you serve. Emergent leaders are those who have earned the followership of others by virtue of their ability to effectively influence behavior and performance without the positional line authority to make it happen.  There is a Pareto principle of effective emergent leadership that reveals three critical core skills of influence - building Trust, creating Accountability, and inspiring Passion in others. In this workshop, you will learn the Art of Influence™ by learning to apply the three core skills required to become an emergent leader of significant influence.  When you master these three skills, you will possess the ability to significantly influence anyone at any level in the organization in order to create a culture of safety excellence. You will become an emergent leader of influence respected by many and admired by most.  Through your emergent leadership influence, less people will get hurt or killed, and more people will elevate the value of safety to a level equal to that of production or customer relations. Your ability to effectively influence others will transform you into a passionate catalyst for positive change in your organizational culture.
