#6 (Egan Convention Center)

Level of Course: Entry

In a world where reducing energy consumption is a greater fiscal responsibility, many companies are finding out that transitioning from development to implementation of their sustainability plan is a great challenge. This presentation will detail a nationwide restaurant company’s journey from development of their comprehensive energy management plan to implementation of an 800 location LED relamp.

Even though it might seem like an easy decision (I mean, how many engineers does it take to screw in a light bulb?), a lot of research went into identifying the project, confirming the energy savings, approval of stakeholders, identifying the most appropriate locations, and determining the right lamps to provide the correct color and light to achieve the desired ambiance for each restaurant.

The presentation  will expand on the benefits and review the challenges of rolling out a nationwide LED program as seen from a real-life example.
