King Salmon (Hilton Anchorage)

Level of Course: Entry

The United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) amended the Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) regulations in 2002, 2006, and 2008.  These amendments created additional regulatory requirements but also provided some regulatory relief.  The additional requirements included changes to the Professional Engineer (PE) certification requirements, added tank inspection standards, changed the plan diagram and organization requirements, added brittle fracture evaluations, ect.  The regulatory reliefs placed in the amendments allow small operations to self-certify SPCC plans (no PE certification!) and there are more reliefs that qualified facilities can take advantage of.  Attendees will be provided information that will enable them to properly write or amend plans and comply with the amended regulatory requirements and benefit from the new regulatory reliefs.
