Preparing for the Unexpected:

Solutions for a Sustainable Workplace

Emergency situations resulting from natural and man-made disasters, terrorist attacks, or civil unrest can strike at a moment’s notice, severely altering lives and communities.  Effective preparation for these unexpected and often devastating events can mean the difference between a speedy recovery or a long-term set-back.

Consider that two years after Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans’ return rate for business was still as low as 65 percent – a statistic that underscores the importance of emergency preparedness in sustaining business operations. It’s not enough to just create a plan. Time must be taken to properly communicate, regularly update, and practice the plan.

This presentation outlines critical steps every business should consider to help save lives, protect valuable assets and maintain business continuity in the event of an emergency, including:

  • Developing the right plan for pre and post incident response at your facility
  • Evaluating the current state of preparedness via plans and practices
  • Discussing tools to help businesses and employees improve readiness
  • Assessing strategies for workforce readiness
  • Outlining strategies for communicating the value of exercising emergency plans
