In recent years there has been much discussion about the topic of hazardous waste management in healthcare facilities. This is a very complex issue that has a number of facets to it. This technical session will highlight best practices for hazardous waste management implemented at healthcare facilities with baseline environmental programs. The co-presenters, coming from the healthcare and hazardous waste industries, will discuss reverse distribution, recycling, and traditional disposal. We will also highlight proposed universal waste regulations and how they could affect healthcare organizations.
