On March 11, 2011 a devastating 8.9-magnitude earthquake wreaked havoc on the Japanese nation, as thousands died in the quake and resultant tsunami.  Following the combined natural disasters, Japan experienced a man-made disaster.   A Japanese nuclear power facility in Fukushima experienced a critical breakdown, and radiation levels in the surrounding area surged.   This presentation summarizes how a company responded to the crisis in Japan from the formation of the Crisis Management Team; implementing the Crisis Management Plan; helping their employees & families; relocating operations; developing a radiation screening program; and addressing the misinformation & confusion mounted with public concern over what kind of threat the nuclear incident posed to the local community.
