Biographical Sketch: Sally S. Smith has over 25 years experience in the field of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S). Sally is Bhate Environmental Associates, Inc.’s Director of Health and Safety, and is responsible for the management of all Health and Safety Compliance Programs for Bhate. Sally ensures her company is in compliance with all Health and Safety regulations and provides EH&S consultative support to clients of Bhate.
Sally’s experience as an EH&S manager includes experience working with Alabama’s Department of Environmental Management (ADEM), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), State and County Departments of Public Health, and the Army Corp of Engineers, as an Industrial Hygienist/ Safety Manager with industry, and as an EH&S consultant. Activities encompassed a variety of services such as: hazardous waste management, health and safety program administration, industrial hygiene monitoring and health hazard assessments, safety engineering and auditing, health and safety training, and developing environmental management systems (EMS) to conform to ISO-14001 standards. Sally has completed research on assessment of asbestos contamination during disasters and has published articles on practices of industrial hygiene consulting.
